The coupling and de-coupling of train carriages poses challenges for on-board train video security. CCTV systems on trains need the ability to dynamically identify an event of coupling or de-coupling and display video from all (and only) the relevant cameras on the On-Train-Monitor. Including coupling and decoupling of two different train-cars with two different video management systems.

Two-way network package communicationStream4s Solution

We implemented a specialised interface that adds flexibility to the underlying systems and communication between them. The interface establishes connection between different DVRs and captures the network packages by identifying the correct network participants. Video response network packages from a specific set of cameras are then provided to one of the OTMs for the driver. Thus multiple interconnected interfaces supporting the underlying hardware and software applications enable train CCTV systems to handle the coupling and decoupling of cars.
